I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

Despite these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is truly happening.
